Pet Rock Clock

What a nice way to show off your rocks. This idea has been created for children but, you could make a real pet rock clock, if you're handy with tools.

Drawing with your Pet Rock

I think this is a nice way to include your pet rock in some artistic endeavours. You really only need paper and markers, but some may want to bring out the paint. Remember, pet rocks don't like permanent paint.

Place your rock on a sheet of paper (or a scrap of paper if you're very thrifty or into recycling). Draw around your rocks with markers, pencils, crayons, pencil crayons, water colour paint, or anything else you have that works. (These are the times you remember you should have put the cap back on those markers).

Have fun. Draw a whole scene featuring you pet rock. Put them on a spaceship, a pirate ship, a sunken ship... Then turn the page over and give them a new adventure to star in.

Rock Balancing

Rock Balancing (stone staking and likely other names) takes patience and a few rocks. You don't have to start with big, heavy, toe mashing rocks. Pebbles of different sizes can make a miniature rock balancing sculpture. If you practice, you might achieve a rock arch.

These photos are from Rhythm of Play. A post about rock balancing for children and parents.
